After a short drive from Philadelphia we arrived in Brooklyn, New York, September 24, 2016. The band had a show at a DIY space called AVIV but before the show food was in order.

After the show a picture had to be taken of the friends sharing a stage that evening. Timeshares, Signals Midwest and Ryan Chitty on the right in the red hoodie. Ryan Chitty attended the show in Philadelphia and is friends with Ryan Williamson who was filling in for Signals Midwest. He joined us for the ride from Philadelphia that day to see the show and we said goodbye to him that night, his Uber driver taking him to where he stayed that evening.
The morning after Brooklyn was the first setback the band experienced that tour. Before hitting the road the band filled the sprinter, also known as The Witchcraft, up with fuel. Unassumingly, we hit the road only thinking about the drive to Washington D.C.. In a matter of moments Ryan lost power steering and and ability to accelerate. He quickly told the group what was happening and was able to pull into a parking lot of a different gas station. Smoke escaped from the crevices of the hood and the scent of fuel filled the van. Worried most of everyone was quiet as we pulled in to a parking spot. As the sprinter came to a stop, a single "fuck" came from under Max's mouth.
We quickly came to the conclusion that we weren't going to make it to the show.
Left: Ryan and Steve begin to try and figure out what was going on. Guesses ranged from the gas attendant putting gasoline instead of diesel into the van, transmission failing and fuel line breaking.
Right: Max dials another phone number trying to problem solve. Calls included the owner of the van and Mike Natoli of Timeshares and the host of where we stayed the previous evening.
Side note: Remember when I spoke about DIY and friends? Mike offered his services of driving us in his van to Washington D.C. and back if the sprinter had no chance of a timely recovery. Friends rock. Thank you Mike.
Steve and Josh talk and hug before the set that evening.
